First and foremost, protect time for Special Training. Plan ahead. Let your family know. Try to take some time away from normal activities before and after Special Training — so that you don’t have to rush and you have time to recover. Start getting your self in better condition. Run. Increase your personal and dojo training. Change your mentality to one of preparation, not only during practice but in between practices. Start setting your self apart from others, mentally, as you prepare. You don’t have to isolate your self. That would be extreme, but start viewing your self as being in preparation for a unique event. In essence, purify your Spirit in anticipation of Special Training. Over time, you will come to understand how Special Training changes you at a deep level. Your level cannot help but improve as you commit to having an intense Special Training, one in which you do not take a single repetition or technique off. Start now!
